Women's Ministry - Fall 2022
“The Gleanings of God’s Goodness”
– Becki Marshall
“O, taste and see that the Lord is good…” - Psalm 34:8a
The soft chirps of crickets in my garden tell me that summer blooms are retiring as cooler autumn evenings approach. It is time to harvest the last of my herbs for drying and infusing in vinegar for Fall stews and Winter salads. The quarts of golden sweet peaches, tomato salsa and frozen jam preserved in August wait in readiness to enhance common meals or special occasions with family and friends. The sounds, smells and tastes of harvest are all around – echoing King David’s invitation “to taste and see that the Lord is good…” (Psalm 34:8a)
Fall is the appropriate season to sample the visible gleanings of our labors as well as the invisible rewards of shared food and fellowship when we gather in our homes and at church. As we are nourished by God’s Word and encouraged in heart through the ministries of support, service and prayer, the goodness of God is enjoyed and multiplied.
This Fall the SLPC Women’s Ministry has prepared a ‘cornucopia’ of opportunities and events to grow in faith and fellowship through weekly Bible Studies, Women2Women home gatherings an enriching weekend retreat and the second annual Artful Women’s Advent Bazaar at Hillside Farm. (See dates, topics, contacts and more information below)
Whether you are just getting acquainted or are a seasoned member of SLPC – you are invited to attend, study, discuss, grow and share the gleanings of God’s grace as we gather and experience that indeed, the Lord is good!

BROKENNESS & BREAKTHROUGHS
Trusting God Through the Storms of Life
Discouragement. Loneliness. Brokenness and Despair. Who among us has not experienced the darkness of soul during a stormy season of life? Have we not all longed for a "breakthrough moment" of hope, healing from a severed relationship, or a health crisis? The Women's Fall Retreat offers you a place at the table, and a hand to hold as we hear Ellen Dykas, our retreat speaker, teach the biblical story of one woman's brokenness and her breakthrough moment with Jesus. Besides biblical teaching, you'll also enjoy a feast of fellowship, good food, inspiring worship, and memorable, personal testimonies from our own SLPC women. Join us for this special weekend to gather together ... broken as we are, and yet ... trusting God through the storms of life.
