Children's Newsletter - Summer 2022
Camp Treasure Island (CTI) is a free week of fun on a “tropical island” held the first full week of August every summer at Springton Lake Presbyterian Church. CTI focuses on sharing the gospel of Christ in a fun, loving way to our surrounding community! Through games, crafts, music, and a biblical centered lesson provided by Child Evangelism Fellowship, we have been able to minister to over 9,000 students and 3,000 volunteers in over 30 years. This is an experience of a lifetime for many of our children and volunteers.
- TUESDAY: Crazy Hat Day—wear an old favorite, or wear something you create!
- WEDNESDAY: Water Day—absolutely everyone will get wet—dress accordingly!
- THURSDAY: Clash Day—break the rules of style and color and let the kids dress themselves!
- FRIDAY: Island Day—time to dig out the flowered shirt!
Each day a new Bible verse will be featured at camp. Tuesday through Friday, campers can earn points for reciting the verse of the day when they arrive at camp.
Providing the Bible lesson teachers, Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) has partnered with our church and Camp Treasure Island for more than 25 years. Sharing the gospel message through the Bible lesson and challenging the children to grow in their relationship with Jesus is the primary role of CEF at CTI.
All graduated campers are invited back to serve as camp volunteers, and are welcome to stay for a lifetime. Hearts willing to serve where needed at camp are very valued. A short meeting for all volunteers takes place each day—after our campers have all been picked up—where we share the day’s God-sightings and pray for the campers in our care. Those wanting to staff the camp as volunteer counselors can simply email the church office to ask for an application: office@slpca.org
We accept donations of school supplies to share with classrooms in need. Things like:
- Backpacks
- Rulers
- Notebooks
- Pens
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Crayons
- Colored Pencils
