Common Threads January 2022
Common Threads:
Winter Edition of the SLPC Newsletter
Kathryn Burling
Aahhh—rest, relax, and read—the new year has arrived…
Welcome to the Winter Edition of Common Threads. Our mission is to encourage, to bring hope, to unite our church body by weaving a common thread through our faith community in Christ—with our stories, prayers and praises.
I am trusting we, as a fellowship of believers, have just experienced a blessed advent season where we have grown in our understanding of the Gospel in the days and weeks leading to Christmas. We then joyfully celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Now, hopefully, comes a moment to take a deep breath and kick back. Yes, you may be sitting by the fire, or on the couch wrapped in your favorite blanket, or at your kitchen table snacking. No matter, we’re glad you’ve chosen to tap the snowflake squares of this winter quilt to find stories of God’s grace and mercy, and stories of His faithfulness, as well as discovering what our youth, here at SLPC, are up to. You might also find a yummy recipe made to go with a cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea. Tap on other squares and learn about the graduates of WWJ, as the students themselves describe their experience in that class, then there’s Women’s ministry, and a winter craft designed with our kids in mind. Move over to the Men’s ministry and SLPC Missions, as well as a note from Pastor Dave…and more!
Welcome to Winter 2022 through the snowflake squares of Common Threads!
